I've got a lovely colour combo for you this week. Feast your eyes on this beauty:

Sunshine Stamping Colour Challenge 2

Isn't that just the most stunning photograph?! It's actually suggested flowers for an autumn wedding bouquet, and I found it at http://www.americanmeadows.com/blog/2016/10/03/diy-fall-wedding-flowers/ . I think it's just beautiful!

Here is the card that I was inspired to make using this combination:

Sunshine Stamping Colour Combo 2 Card

Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie really feel like they shouldn't work together, but I love this combination. It's vibrant, and cheering, and a perfect antidote to the cooler days that we're having at the moment. The die-cuts are from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, which as you can imagine I was desperate to get hold of, given my business name. I hadn't noticed the little butterfly before, though - I'd always thought it was another flower. What do you think? Butterfly? Flower? I'm still not 100% sure, but I think it looks great as a butterfly here, with its sparkly body. And I adore that scribbly flower shape! I layered two together on this card, a Melon Mambo one on top of a Basic Black one, to make it pop. The black is quite subtle, but it really makes a difference to how it looks.

This one has gone off as a birthday card to one of my lovely team members, and I hope she likes it. Happy Birthday Emma!

Everything that I've used today is available in my Online Shop. I've popped a link to everything at the bottom of this post; just click on any of the photos and you'll be able to see more details. When you order, don't forget to use the current Hostess Code - you'll find it over there in the right hand column.

If this colour combination inspires you, I'd love to see your projects using it. Pop a photo in the comments, or drop me an email, and I'll share my favourites so everyone can enjoy them.

I'll be back tomorrow with another sketch challenge. See you then - have a fabulous day! xx

Hello, and welcome to the first of my Midweek Make Over posts!

Foral Boutique Midweek Make Over Preview

This is going to be my third regular blog feature, and each week I'll be revisiting a card or other project that I made a while back, and remaking and updating it with current Stampin' Up! products.

Here's the card that I wanted to update for today's post.

Stampin' Up! Happenings Kit - Birthday

It's a card from a kit that Stampin' Up! did a couple of years back. i love that our kits make it so easy to make gorgeous cards, even if you don't have previous crafting experience (you can see all of Stampin' Up!'s current kits here), and I had loved this design so I thought it would be a perfect place to start.

Here's my Make Over:

Floral Boutique Midweek Make Over

I love this paper! These two patterns are both from the lovely Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper pack. I've had this pack for a while, but for some reason not got round to using it before this. It's lush, honestly! And don't forget that DSP is on offer this month - for every three packs you order, you can choose one free.

The original card used Glimmer Paper for a bit of sparkle, but I've substituted Gold Sequin Trim, and instead of the button, I found a teensy spiral that was left over from a Swirly Scribbles die cut. I needed a splash of colour to make the DSP pop, and I love Night of Navy with Calypso Coral. So there you have it! Everything that I've used is available in my Online Shop, and you can see all the details at the bottom of this post.

Thanks for dropping in! I hope you're enjoying my new look blog, and don't forget there is still time to enter my Colour Combination Challenge or my Sketch Challenge if you'd like to. I'd love to see your creations!

See you soon... xx

Well, how did you get on with yesterday's Colour Combination challenge? I really enjoyed putting it together for you! Today, I've got a sketch for you to try. This is going to be a regular Sunday feature from now on, so I hope you enjoy it. Here's this week's sketch.

Sunshine Stamping Sketch Challenge 9th Oct

I'd love to see your takes on this sketch idea. If you've never used a card sketch before, the idea's a really simple one. You simply use each shape in the sketch as a visual representation of an element in a card  - it's like a cardmaking map, if you like. You can use the sketch any way you want: try flipping it, or turning it round by ninety degrees, so your card sits landscape rather than portrait. How about using washi tape, or border stamps to create the striped detail?

Or.... how about using patterned paper? Here's my take on this sketch to get you started:

And here are another couple of ideas, courtesy of the Stampin' Up! designers themselves:

If you'd like to take part in my very first Sunday Sketch challenge, I'd really love to see what you come up wit. You can post your photos in the comments on this post, or email them to me. I'll choose my favourites and post them in next Sunday's blog post, and on the Sunshine Stamping Facebook page, so your cards can inspire everyone who sees them.

Everything I've used in today's projects can be ordered from my Online Shop. I've put a list at the bottom of this post - just click on any of the thumbnails for further information.

On Wednesday, I'll be posting a reworking of a project I made a while back, remade and tweaked using current products. This is going to be another regular feature, and I'm really looking forward to that one too. I hope you'll like it! See you then... xx
