Welcome!

Hello! How's your week been? I'm still working out how best to write up my colour challenges for you. This week, I'm going to try leading with the card I've made, and following up with the colour combination itself - do let me know what you think. Is it better this way round, or do you prefer having the colour combination picture first?

Sunshine Stamping Colour Challenge 6 Card

I do love this stamp set, and I thought I'd have a play with some watercolouring. This was done with our Stampin' Up! inkpads and an Aqua Painter, using our Watercolour Paper. What do you think? I'm still learning with my watercolouring, but I'm pleased with this one. I was also impressed that the new Stitched Shapes framelits were able to cut so crisply through the watercolour paper, as it's quite a bit thicker than our normal cardstock. I love this stitched effect - really adds a finishing touch.

The message is a simple one. It's been impossible to get away from politics this week, what with a certain election "across the pond", so for this Colour Challenge I wanted to focus on something positive and beautiful. Tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday, and people all across the country have been wearing their poppies as a mark of respect for all those who lost their lives so that we might enjoy ours.

Here's the photo I based this card on, and the one that forms this week's Colour Challenge. It had to be poppies this week, didn't it?

Sunshine Stamping Colour Challenge No 6

As always, I'd love to see what you come up with using this colour combination. If you're feeling inspired, why not add a picture of your card in the comments, or send one to me in an email. Let me know what you think of these Colour Challenges - I'd love to know what you think!

Thanks for dropping in. See you soon... xx

Hello! Something a little different for you today; I've been away this weekend in Telford for Stampin' Up!'s On Stage Local event, and I thought you might like to see some photos. Here we are, getting ready for things to start:

On Stage Live Telford Nov 2016

We always get the chance to see (and play with) upcoming new products, and as you might imagine, we all get just a leetle bit excited. Here is Jane, reacting to one particularly gorgeous new release:

Jane at OnStage Nov 2016

Haha! Sorry for the annoying smiley face, cunningly placed over the forthcoming Spring / Summer catalogue, but I'm not allowed to show you any of the new stuff yet. I can promise you though, you'll be as chuffed with it as Jane was!

One of the great fun parts of the On Stage events is Prize Patrol, where brand new goodies are given away. Carol won a stamp set in the very first Prize Patrol of this event. My amazing camera skills make her look a bit nonplussed, don't you think? Oh my goodness, I WISH I could show you the stamp set she won - it's just bee-yoo-ti-ful...

And here's Jane, with another Prize Patrol prize. Again, apologies for the very frustrating smiley faces!

At the end of day, we were all absolutely shattered, but very excited and with heads buzzing with everything that we'd seen, learned and crafted. I can't wait to be able to show you more of what was shared at the event, but you're going to have to wait for a while for that, I'm afraid. It'll be worth it. Trust me. (*smiles knowingly*)

FInally, here I am, with some of my lovely team members, right at the end of the events yesterday (sadly minus the lovely Anne, who had to run hell-for-leather for her taxi as we'd overrun). I wanted to bring the big balloon back with me, but I didn't think I'd get away with it. We need to buy a bigger car...

Team Sunshine On Stage 2016

The next On Stage event is in April, and we'll all be travelling over to Amsterdam for an even bigger event - On Stage Live. I can't wait! Events like these are one of the amazing things I get to share in as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, meeting with loads of lovely friends from all across the world. If you fancy the idea of seeing all the latest crafting products before they're available to the general public, and being part of an amazing group of people at the same time, then I'd love to hear from you. Drop me an email and we'll chat, if you like. It may be one of the best things you ever do.

Thanks for dropping by, and I'll be back soon! Have a great week. xx

Happy Guy Fawkes Day everyone!! While you're all out roasting chestnuts and writing your name in the sky with sparklers, I'm in Telford with all my lovely Stampin' Up! team and friends enjoying our On Stage Local convention. Photos to come.... Oh my goodness, are you in for a treat when the new Spring Summer catalogue comes out in the New Year! But in the meantime, I have a fab colour challenge for you. How could I resist a fireworks-based one?

Happy Guy Fawkes Night Colour Combo

The lovely Abbie of Polyspiral, who does my website for me, passed her driving test a few days ago, so I wanted to make her a congratulations card. Fireworks and celebrations go together brilliantly, right? So this card is for her, and I'm hoping against hope that the post has arrived before she sees this. Abbie, you're a superstar, and if your card isn't with you yet (bad Post Office!) then I promise it's on its way!

Sunshine Stamping Colour Challenge 5 Card 1

I just LOVED stamping this one - great fun! I trawled through my stamp sets and found every set I could that had a firework-y, starry stamp in it and just went to town. Random stamping, people - you need to try it! I faffed about for a while trying to find an appropriate sentiment, but everything I considered at first just lacked "oomph" somehow. This die cut sentiment from my beloved Sunshine Wishes thinlits set really is perfect though. I love it, and I just hope Abbie does too.

Here's a different angle, showing the rhinestones, 'cause you can't really see them in the main photo.

Sunshine Stamping Colour Challenge 5 Card 2

And another one:

Sunshine Stamping Colour Challenge 5 Card 3

I'm dying to see some of your cards, so if this colour combination is calling to you, do send me your photos. You can add them to the comments on this post, or email them to me. I'll share my favourites in next week's post, and on my Facebook page, so that everyone can enjoy them. Don't be shy now!

As always, you can see a breakdown of what I've used at the bottom of this post. Click on any of the pictures for more details, and everything is available in my Online Shop. Don't forget to use the Hostess Code if your order is between £20 and £150, so I can send you a free gift.

Thanks for dropping in, and have a fabulous weekend! xx
